Leader Aggregates Sand & Gravel Delivery is a dispatch company that hauls rock. We don't run a yard. We run trucks, loaded at supply yards and quarries we work closely with in the San Fernando Valley and the Inland Empire, to job sites and driveways across Los Angeles and Southern California.
Skip
Skip started dispatching aggregate 13 years ago and has been the voice on the phone ever since. Before this name the company operated as Great North Aggregates. Same trucks, same plants, same dispatcher. When you call at 6 a.m. or 11 p.m., you get Skip or someone Skip trained.
How Skip got here
He started at 16, doing office paperwork after school for a trucking company. Before that it was emptying storage units and moving boxes between offices. Fifty bucks here, a hundred there.
"Moving stuff from point A to point B is what I used to do, and that's what I do now. Instead of boxes, it's truckloads of rock."
He learned the selling side by sitting in on calls and walking job sites with people who had been doing it for years, then went and found his first ten customers himself. For a while the company was Great North Aggregates. North is what people from North Hollywood call it.
That is about six years on his own and thirteen years in the industry this January. Now it is Leader Aggregates. Skip answers the phone himself, day and night, and still drives a truck when a load needs him.
The drivers
Veterans, most of them with more years behind the wheel than Skip has in the industry. Men and women.
How we work
- One delivered price. Tonnage and distance set it. No fuel add-ons.
- Small loads are welcome. Ten bags is a real order to us, not an inconvenience.
- We place material where you point, including tight driveways and backyards.
- If we're not the right fit for the job, we say so on the phone.
