Leader Aggregates Sand & Gravel Delivery supplies concrete crews with Class 2 and CAB for base under slabs, washed concrete sand for bedding and site mixes, and 1 to 5 yard short-load pours when a full mixer is more than the job needs. Driveways, patios, footings, and slab replacements across Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.
Straight answers
- What to order
- Class 2 or CAB for base, washed concrete sand, 3/4" rock for drainage, short-load ready mix from 1 to 5 yards.
- Jobs we see
- Driveway and patio replacements, garage slabs, footings, curb and sidewalk repairs, pool decks.
- Load sizes
- 5 to 10 tons of base is typical for a residential driveway. Sand by the couple of tons. Concrete by the yard.
- What to say when you call
- Square footage and lift depth for base, PSI and pour time for concrete, the city, and the truck access.
How much base under a slab?
Most residential slabs sit on 4 inches of compacted Class 2 or CAB. Figure 1.5 tons per compacted yard, so a 20 by 20 driveway at 4 inches is about 7.5 tons. Add 10 percent for waste.

Do you do short-load pours?
Yes, 1 to 5 yards of ready mix. Tell us the PSI, the slump, the pour time, and the truck access. Footings, small slabs, curb and sidewalk repairs, and pool decks are typical.
Can you deliver base and haul the old concrete on one trip?
Often. Break out the old slab, pile it clean, and we'll take it when we drop the base. One straight price for both.
What concrete crews order
Washed concrete sand, Class 2 or CAB depending on what the spec allows, and 1/2" or 3/4" crushed. Half-inch is moving fast right now on ADU foundations.
Plus the concrete: 2,500 through 5,000 PSI, short loads or full trucks, with slurry for the trench work. Same inspection-morning rush as the plumbers, same answer. Tell us the hour it has to be there.
When we're not the right fit
- We're delivery only. There is no yard to visit, so you can't pick up material or look at it before it arrives.
- We provide delivery slips with every load, not certified weight tickets.
- There is no minimum. Small orders pay the regular delivery fee, and super sacks and bags cover the small ones.
If any of those is a deal-breaker for your job, tell us when you call and we'll say so straight.
