What is Class 2 base?
Class 2 aggregate base is a graded blend of crushed rock and fines that meets the Green Book Class 2 specifications. It compacts into a dense, stable layer under concrete, asphalt, and pavers. Ours comes from supply yards and quarries we work closely with in the San Fernando Valley and the Inland Empire.

How much is a load delivered?
Pricing depends on tonnage and where the truck is going. Call (213) 999-8161 with your city and the amount you need and we'll quote one straight delivered price, no add-ons.
How much Class 2 do I need?
Figure about 1.5 tons per cubic yard compacted. For a 4 inch lift, one ton covers roughly 60 square feet. Call and we'll work it out with you.

Can you deliver into a tight driveway?
Yes. Our drivers place material where you need it, including tight driveways and backyards. Tell us about gates, overhead lines, and slope when you call.
Recycled or virgin, and why we ask
Most Class 2 we deliver is recycled: crushed concrete, asphalt and rock, 3/4" minus down to rock dust, with every size in between. It compacts hard and it drains. Caltrans and the cities run recycled Class 2 under their roads. Contractors mostly prefer it, because it compacts better than virgin base and it costs less.
There is a virgin-rock Class 2 as well, close to CAB but not the same spec. If your plans call for virgin material and a recycled load shows up, the inspector rejects it and the load goes back on the truck. So we ask every caller the same question: recycled Class 2, correct?
The other names for it
Base, base rock, road base, Class 2, CMB. CMB is crushed miscellaneous base, close to Class 2 but it does not have to meet a spec. Class 2 passes for CMB. CMB does not always pass for Class 2.
When you call, tell us what it is going under: pavers, turf, a slab, a driveway. And whether your plans require virgin material.
When we're not the right fit
- We're delivery only. There is no yard to visit, so you can't pick up material or look at it before it arrives.
- We provide delivery slips with every load, not certified weight tickets.
- There is no minimum. Small orders pay the regular delivery fee, and super sacks and bags cover the small ones.
If any of those is a deal-breaker for your job, tell us when you call and we'll say so straight.
