What base goes under artificial turf?
Usually 3 to 4 inches of Class 2 or CAB, then a thin leveling layer of 1/4" minus or DG compacted smooth. Figure 1.5 tons per compacted yard for both.
How much infill sand per square foot?
Washed infill sand runs about 1 to 2 pounds per square foot depending on the turf. A 1,000 square foot yard is half a ton to a ton. Tell us the turf spec and we'll match it.
Can you deliver early on install day?
Yes. Tell us the window when you order. We can drop base the afternoon before and infill sand the morning of the install.
The stack, bottom to top
Class 2 base over the existing soil, washed concrete sand on top to level it, then your turf. That is the order, and those are the two loads we bring.
When we're not the right fit
- We're delivery only. There is no yard to visit, so you can't pick up material or look at it before it arrives.
- We provide delivery slips with every load, not certified weight tickets.
- There is no minimum. Small orders pay the regular delivery fee, and super sacks and bags cover the small ones.
