Which crushed rock size do I need?

Larger stone drains faster and locks together under load. Smaller stone compacts tighter and gives a smoother finish. The table below covers the common uses. If you're not sure, describe the job when you call and we'll recommend a size.

Close-up of loose angular crushed granite in light gray, white and dark gray, pieces roughly half to three-quarters of an inch, filling the frame.

How much is a load delivered?

Pricing depends on tonnage and where the truck is going. Call (213) 999-8161 with your city and the amount you need and we'll quote one straight delivered price, no add-ons.

Can you deliver into a tight driveway?

Yes. Our drivers place material where you need it, including tight driveways and backyards. Tell us about gates, overhead lines, and slope when you call.

Crushed rock or gravel

Crushed rock comes out of a machine, so the faces are angular and the pieces lock into each other and pack tight. Natural gravel is rounded and stays loose. For anything that has to hold, order crushed.

What each size is for

  • 1/4" birdseye: swept into the joints between paver stones to lock them.
  • 3/8" pea gravel: the rock inside most concrete. Gas stations pack it around fuel tanks. The crushed 3/8" goes on walkways and under backyard sheds.
  • 1/2" crushed: what the ADU foundation crews are ordering right now. Not many suppliers carry it.
  • 3/4" crushed: the standard. Driveways, structural fill, under foundations, drainage, septic leach lines, French drains.
  • 1" rock: drainage, including under raised garden beds.
  • 1-1/2" crushed: driveways that take heavy traffic, RV parking pads.
  • 2-4" and 3-6": construction site entrances and under rumble plates. The 2-4" also works for RV and boat parking.

When we're not the right fit

  • We're delivery only. There is no yard to visit, so you can't pick up material or look at it before it arrives.
  • We provide delivery slips with every load, not certified weight tickets.
  • There is no minimum. Small orders pay the regular delivery fee, and super sacks and bags cover the small ones.

If any of those is a deal-breaker for your job, tell us when you call and we'll say so straight.

Questions we get every day

Do you deliver the same day?

Often, yes. Our supply yards close around 4:30 or 5 PM, so call a couple of hours before that. If a truck is free it goes out today. If it can't make it, it's there first thing in the morning.

What's the smallest amount you'll deliver?

No minimum. We have delivered ten bags and we have delivered 6,800 tons. Small orders pay the regular delivery fee.

Can you deliver into a tight driveway or backyard?

Yes. Our drivers place material where you need it, including tight access.

Do you provide weight tickets?

Every load comes with a delivery slip showing our information and the tonnage.

What areas do you serve?

Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, day in and day out. Special material has gone as far as Sacramento, Redding and Las Vegas.

Do you do short-load concrete?

Yes, 1 to 5 yards, and well past that: full 10-yard trucks and larger pours. We supply the concrete, your crew places it. Mixes are 2,500, 3,500 and 5,000 PSI in a 3/8" or 1" rock. We also deliver slurry.

Do you haul away material?

Yes. Dirt, broken concrete, asphalt, and demolition debris that recycles. No metal, no wood. The concrete and asphalt go to a recycler and come back as base rock.
