What is decomposed granite?
DG is granite that has weathered into a mix of small gravel and fines. Spread and compacted, it forms a hard, permeable surface with a natural earth color. It's a favorite for garden paths, patios, and low-water yards.

How much is a load delivered?
Pricing depends on tonnage and where the truck is going. Call (213) 999-8161 with your city and the amount you need and we'll quote one straight delivered price, no add-ons.
How much DG do I need?
Figure about 1.5 tons per cubic yard. A 3 inch compacted layer covers roughly 80 square feet per ton. Call and we'll work it out.
Can you deliver into a tight driveway?
Yes. Our drivers place material where you need it, including tight driveways and backyards. Tell us about gates, overhead lines, and slope when you call.
Stabilized or not
DG is granite that broke down over time into a sandy material. Regular DG is for looks: horse stables, beds, anywhere nobody walks. Stabilized DG has a powder binder mixed in at the yard for your order. Wet it, compact it, and it locks together.
If people or dogs are going to walk on it, order stabilized. It holds through rain and it lasts longer. Two inches deep is standard, and at least two inches anywhere with traffic. You have walked on it at parks, school running tracks and bike paths.
Three questions when you call: regular or stabilized, what are the measurements, and is anyone walking on it. Some people ask for GD. We know what you mean.
When we're not the right fit
- We're delivery only. There is no yard to visit, so you can't pick up material or look at it before it arrives.
- We provide delivery slips with every load, not certified weight tickets.
- There is no minimum. Small orders pay the regular delivery fee, and super sacks and bags cover the small ones.
If any of those is a deal-breaker for your job, tell us when you call and we'll say so straight.
